Intro:
Why did you come tonight, what made you get ready, start your vehicle, and drive to this building? Maybe you are here with family, maybe you are here because it is Christmas Eve and you saw on-line that we have a service , maybe you are here because this is what you have always done…Maybe you are not sure.
Read Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,”. Paul goes on to talk about the blessings that are possible through Jesus. Paul reminds the Ephesians and us that we did not start in the blessing of God. We actually started quit far from it. But because of Jesus we have been reconciled and any hostility that was there has been demolished by the cross. We are no longer strangers, aliens, but are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God built off the Apostles and prophets and Jesus the cornerstone
This is the reason that Paul is a prisoner of Christ, this explains Paul’s life choices. Paul’s purpose in life was to preach this message to those who had not heard it so that they too could be a part of God’s family.
It is for this reason that Paul bows his knees before the Father.
Eph 4:19 the end goal is to be filled with the fullness of God
We are going to be filled in so many ways tonight, tomorrow, and the days that follow
